I get really tickled when Drum and Bass is done right. âDone rightâ? means it grooves me, it bothers me, it nags at me, it tells me something urban and something cultural. Drum and bass is an acquired taste like a rich brandy or tropical rum. Itâs got to have a heady, emotional groove.
DJ Rapâs Bulletproof is the best example of Drum and Bass âdone rightâ? to come along so far this year. Cross genre manipulation can be a bit tricky, and although sheâs not the first to remix some landmark alter-genre tracks into Drum and Bass, Dieselboy most notably pulling such tracks together with his Dungeonmaster's Guide [http://www.jivemagazine.com/review.php?rid=560], some of the DJ Rap alt-genre remixes on this album are mind-blowing, gut-wrenching brilliance.
DJ Rap has remixed Ferry Corsten's "Indigo" into a Drum and Bass tune and pulls it off with a flare of vision and respect to the original piece, similar to the Ill Skillz Remix - Concord Dawn:Take Me Away. The underlying layer of the original track is still there at its finest audible presentation, with a Drum and Bass beat infusion that makes it unique all over again, but just as mesmerizing.
Actually, the entire album is delicious. Concord Dawn's - Morning Light is a gorgeous pick for the mix and she ends the album with the beautiful melodic track, entitled, appropriately enough, Beautiful Universe.
The album's namesake is track number one and Bulletproof has a cool, dancey beat that catches you indefinitely. It gets your attention and sets the pace for some fine expectations to come. You'll go about with it in your head for weeks.

SPINOFF... i got to learn alot about chocolate and fairtrade products which was when i was approched to present a documentry about this....its a 3 part called THE POWER OF CHOICE) It will be aired in Europe first and what youll see is me in Africa going through the whole process of how we get chocolate, how farmers benifit by fair trade etc....The other two parts are about recycling mobile phones instead of throwing them away , they can really be put to good use in GHANA by a doctor, the third part is about hemp and how resourseful it is. It was alife changing event for me and i would like to find a way to help these people , so talks are going on right now about how best to do this so keep your eyes on this site for more info on that....put it this way, a hundred dollars is one year,s wages to a farmer!!!!! Be aware of what you do and what products you buy- it really does make a difference......FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW, I STUDY THIS, IT IS A GREAT WAY TO TRAIN, KEEP FIT AND GREAT FOR YOUR MENTAL WELL BEING,. I AM NOW A PROUD ORANGEBELT, AND TOTALLY ADDICTED, ALTHOUGH YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF ( NO- ONE WILL FUCK WITH YOU) IT TEACHES HOW TO AVOID CONFLICT- SO NO EGOS NEED APPLY OR MUSCLEHEADS-OH , AND BY THE WAY- YOU NEED TO BE DEDICATED AND PREPARE TO TRAIN AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK FOR 1- 2 HOURS, ITS NOT EASY, HOWEVER WOULD YOU WANT IT TO BE?
